Shop at Brigadeiro's: Rachel Roy Leather Jacket

Shop at Brigadeiro's

Rachel Roy Leather Jacket

Size US 6 (fits US 4 as well)
UK 8-10

This is from Rachel Roy's mainline collection, not her diffusion line, and retailed for well over US$1000.

I have not worn it myself, but lent it to my mom to wear it once for 2 hours. In pristine, as new condition.

Beautiful soft leather, fully lined, with subtle tweed detailing at the cuffs and under the lapels. Cute little round brass buttons, expert tailoring at the lapels, and two front pockets. Beautifully tailored/cut so that the hem curves downwards to be longer at the back, and clever pleating detail on the collar.

This transseasonal jacket can be worn casually during the day with a distressed tee and jeans, or in the evening with a dress and heels. I love this jacket, but the door hinges on my closet have come undone (seriously), due to too many jackets and coats (embarrassing much?). My loss is your gain.

Sell for US$249 for a quick sale.

Rachel Roy Helena dress BNWT US$897 - SOLD!

Rachel Roy dress has wide half sleeves, contrast net panel at back, box pleats, a tonal metallic panel at front and back, side seam pockets, an internal elasticated waistband and net lining with hook fastening. 69% viscose, 31% polyester; fully lined.

After I bought this dress I realized I had another one very similar to it, so never got to wear this one. The dress up for grabs is the 'natural' coloured dress, apologies for the sun on the bottom half, the upper half is the part that is true to colour. The mesh is shearer than it appears on the Net-a-Porter's mannequin. Wear this day or night

US$169

Size M (sizing is flexible)

US 4-6 (maybe up to 8)
UK 8-10 (maybe up to 12)

Approximate measurements, as this dress is hard to measure:

Length: 44"
Waist: 31" unstretched (can stretch a few inches)
Bust: harder to measure, as there is no 'armpit' seam to measure from, but I would say it would accommodate a minimum 34" bust to 38 or more, because of the front 'wrap' style.
Hips: free because of the A-line skirt.

New, never worn, with tags still attached. This dress by brilliant designer Hussein Chalayan is exactly like the one in the runway, but in a more wearable fabric of pink & cream silk. LOVE the detailing around the halter neckline, closes with a side invisible zip, fully lined. Unfortunately it has been sitting in my wardrobe unused for quite some time, with tags still attached.

Brian Reyes runway ivory silk dress US2 BNWT

Incredibly reluctant and tentative sale, as I may change my mind about this. Purchased when I was a small US 4 I thought I would lose the weight I had gained at the time to fit into this dress, as it was so so stunning. Unfortunately, the scales went the wrong way, and I never got to wear it! I am still hoping for a miracle, hence I have not tried to part with it until now (I may still be in denial). The dress for sale is exactly as above, and comes with a 100% silk slip, and the dress itself is 100% silk. Absolutely stunning! Could be worn as an evening dress or even a 'modern' wedding dress...

Rachel Roy - Beautiful draping...

This is one of my current favourite outfits, having used it three times in the last month or so, as it is so easy to throw on and so comfortable...

Dress: Rachel Roy Viola wrap dress (looks much better on the model, of course) - am grateful for the stretchy waistband
Shoes: Christian Dior Extreme Python sandals
Bag
: Chloe lambskin bracelet bag

Bracelet: Tom Binns Faux Real

What first made me fall in love with Rachel Roy's designs were her beautiful drapey pieces...Her debut Spring/Summer 2007 collection of hers is still my favourite, especially the draped yellow strapless dress (which was my first purchase of hers):

Some other gorgeous pieces of hers I love...

Recent Buys: Dries Van Noten, Stella McCartney & Rachel Roy

Summer is around the corner, and with my ever-expanding waistline, I am trying to add more flowy & roomy dresses to my wardrobe...plus they are my favourite types of dresses anyway...

Stella McCartney
(I have this dress in my wardrobe which was getting quite snug, and so found one in a size bigger, probably need two sizes bigger soon....)

Rachel Roy
(I absolutely love her draped dresses)
Dries Van Noten
(but mine is pale blue instead of yellow)

Drape me up, drape me down

Rachel Roy Layla dress
Sportsgirl silk chiffon embroidered shrug
Dior Extreme Pythons in Brown heels (will have to post better pictures of these shoes, they deserve a post on their own!)

PS. I warned you I'm not at all photogenic! Please excuse the horrible hair, it was in a messy bun which fell apart seconds before the picture was taken.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I simply adore draped pieces, and have done so for as long as I can remember.  I love how the fabric drapes and flows with your body, exuding effortless glamour; and especially the fact that one needn't be tall nor slim to carry it off (I am neither), flattering any shape or size.
